The Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Core’s mission and purpose is to enhance cancer health disparities research in underserved African-, Asian-, and Latinx-American communities in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York City by providing expertise in experimental design, biostatistics, bioinformatics, genomics, clinical genetics, mixed methods and qualitative analyses, and computing. The primary role of the BB Core is to support the three main U54-funded projects.
In addition, the Core is happy to provide more limited consultation and referrals on new projects related to the U54 acitivities.
These include U54-funded pilot and pre-pilot projects, and new small-grant applications (e.g., PSC-CUNY, R03, R21, or others of comparable scope).
Finally, the BB core is also available to provide more extensive formal collaboration on larger applications (e.g., R01-type studies), with the understanding that a percent effort will be budgeted in for services and support commensurate with the project’s needs and scope.
